Art 1 – Carrying Out of Coaching
The coach is authorised to carry out the function conscientiously in accordance with their training, their experience and their initial supervision.
Art 2 – Confidentiality
The coach is subject to professional confidentiality about all matters which transpire. Where the coaching is underwritten by a third party (employer, institution or person),the client bears sole responsibility for any refunds due to the underwriter.
Art 3 – Arranging Supervision
The coach has to have access to a place of supervision by a peer or a competent third party, and to have recourse to this every time that the situation demands it.
Art 4 – Personal Respect
Aware of their position, the coach is forbidden any breach of trust. They will show loyalty with respect to the client from whom they accepted confidence.
Art 5 – Respect for Organizations
The coach is sympathetic to the profession, to the customs, to the culture, to the context and to the pressures of the organization within which the client perates.
Art 6 – Requests for Coaching
All requests for coaching from an organization, require two endoresments : one proposed by the organisation and the other by the individual being sponsored. This enables the coach to validate the request of the client and to ensure that he/she is a genuine volunteer.
Art 7 – Refusal of Request
The coach can refuse to accept someone for coaching for reasons relating to the request, to the person asking for coaching, to the organization, or to themselves. In this last case the coach may refer the request to one of their colleagues.
Art 8 – Method(s) to Be Utilised
The coach will make use of the most appropriate ways of allowing, in the framework of their request, the professional and personal development of the client, including if need be in having recourse, to a colleague or to supplementary expertise.
Art 9 – Protection of the person
The coach will adapt their intervention in respect of the stages of development of the client, who will be aware of their right to give up the coaching at any moment, without having to explain themseves.
Art 10 – Place and Plan for Coaching
The coach has to be attentive to the meaning and to the effects of the place and plan adopted for the coaching session.
Art 11- Interruption of the Assignment
If conditions for the success of the coaching no longer exist, the coach is authorised, in consultation with the client, to break off the assignment.
Art 12 – Responsibility for Decisions
Coaching is a technique for professional and personal development. Therefore the coach leaves to the client full responsibility for their decisions and actions.
